DJ BATTLE TO THE DEATH
Come for fablulous dancing and a famous RHLH DJ battle. Adin and Jaredan will be facing off for a DJ fight to the death (or maybe just to the pain).

8pm until the feet stop moving at Jaredan's house, 3057 Kirby Downs Cove, Mem. 38115.

We hope you can join us for the last dance of 2006. Bring your favorite music, dress for casual comfort (PJs are totally acceptable and encouraged!), and feel free to BYOB! If you'd like to bring snacks or have other questions, email
Jaredan in advance.

For anyone who did not attend the Roaring 20s Dance in November, you missed a great party at the spacious Gallery Ballroom downtown. The crowd was swingin' to live music from St. Paul & the Apostles. The gals and gangsters hit the speakeasy for a night on the town in their best threads (pictures from the night are now up at the RHLH gallery). The costume contest ended in a dance-off between Alexis and Mykle for best ladies' costume, with the winner receiving a coupon for free admission to any future event. Before the dance, a free lesson in Collegiate Shag was taught by Amanda and Jaredan. After the dance, the survivors headed to  Amanda's house for the swinging-est after party in town.

For future reference: we just found this great site to purchase adult 1920s costumes Zoogstercostumes.com.

 Bon Voyage, Scott North!
We are sad to announce that by the time you read this newsletter, our Vice President Scott North will be on his way to sunny California to work for New Song Church. We appreciate all the countless hours he has spent on Red Hot Lindy Hop, whether teaching lessons, setting up for dances, or working with both leads and follows on the dance floor. Scott will be truly missed, but we're happy that we'll now have somewhere to stay when we're in Cali!
Good luck, Scott!

See you on the dance floor!
